We have a robust recruitment and selection policy and procedures in place. Not only does this policy ensure that we have enough staff cover to run an effective service but guarantees that we have appropriately and suitably qualified staff with relevant experience who are competently matched to roles to ensure that the services we provide will be safe, caring, responsive and well-led. The policy provides for
water-tight screening to ensure that all our staff have enhanced DBS checks, verifiable qualifications and reliable references before they are deployed to work with vulnerable young people.
Employment, education, social activities and leisure
All our young people at
Vine Semi-Independent Homes will have the opportunity to be supported to pursue their education and employment ambitions. We will also support young people to participate in social and recreation activities. Naturally, we protect the vulnerability of our young people through robust risk assessments and ensuring that they have staff to support them through the duration of their placements.
We recognise
how important social inclusion and being independent are to our young people. To promote this, we offer community trips, shopping, and day trips to places of their interest, including local pubs. We will do our best to facilitate evening social activities as well.
Young people will be informed beforehand and an agreement would have to be in place for activities that would incur a cost

Safeguarding against child sex exploitation and anti-radicalisation
We understand the importance of protecting young people from risks
of sexual exploitation. We will not shy away from playing our part in ensuring that our young people are safe from being sexually groomed and exploited. We will also ensure that they are not exposed to environments or material conducive to brainwashing and radicalisation .
We will collaborate with relevant authorities, support groups and law enforcement agencies to ensure
that our young people grow up and develop in safer environments. Our staff will be trained and supported to ensure that they have the necessary skills to detect and deal accordingly with situations that may cause risk to young people.
We will also ensure that information is readily available to our young people so that they are aware of red flags as well as how to deal with situations where they feel vulnerable to exploitation or radicalisation
without exposing themselves to further danger.
